chance at big prizes!" |
For both the 1v1 and 3v3 tournaments, the first two stages will feature bracketed matches with single elimination played over the PlayStation Network. The top 6 teams in the 3v3 tourney and the top 8 individuals in the 1v1 tourney will be flown out to NYC to compete in the semifinal competitions at a GameStop retail store. The following day the top 2 teams of the 3v3 tourney and the top 2 players from the 1v1 will play their final matches at the GamePlay HD studios for a nationally televised segment! See the Full Official Rules and Regulations for complete details about how you can be the one of the lucky finalists.
Registration for the Resistance: Fall of Man Tournament will run from 12:01 am EST on 6/18/07 until 11:59 pm EST on 7/4/07. Registrants can only register for one competition, so start thinking about whether you make a better team player or if you fight best on your own. If you need help finding teammates, visit the tournament forums here http://tourney.myresistance.net. You can register for the site in general (which enables you to use those forums), join as a single player, or you can create a team, or join an existing team. Remember, only complete teams of 3 are eligible to compete in the 3v3 brackets.
For those of you registered in time, the tournament itself will take place from 7/7/07 through 7/28/07, online over the PlayStation Network. For the 3v3 tournament, Stage 1 will feature teams being randomly seeded into 16 brackets of up to 32 teams each. Each bracket will play (single elimination) down to the final two teams, who will then advance to Stage 2. For the 1v1 tournament, Stage 1 will feature players being randomly seeded into 16 brackets of up to 32 teams each. Each bracket will play (single elimination) down to the final two players, who will then advance to Stage 2.
The remaining 32 teams in the 3v3 competition and the remaining 32 players in the 1v1 will then compete in Stage 2, a single elimination online bracket. The last six teams standing in the 3v3 tourney and the last eight players in the 1v1 tourney will be sent to NYC to compete in the semifinals and finals from August 10 through August 12.
For more details, check out the Full Official Rules and Regulations. Pick up a copy of the game if you don’t have it already, register for the tournament and get to it!
