Blizzard WWI Wrap-Up
The Blizzard World Wide Invitational "StarCraft" tournament has finished. There were semi final and final matches were held on the last day, and here are the final results:

Semi final:
 Jae Yoon “Savior” MA  vs.
Min “Nalra” Kang (2 : 0)
Taek Yong “BiSu” KIM  vs. Yoon Yeol “NaDa” Lee (2 : 0)

Final:
Jae Yoon “Savior” MA  vs. Taek Yong “BiSu” Kim (1 : 2)

In the 1st semi final match, Nalra’s strategies were perfectly blocked by Savior’s fantastic defense. In the first battle, Nalra made a few Reavers first, but Savior detected this and made mass mutalisks. Savior blindsided Nalra countinously and finally got him to say “GG,” beating Nalra’s expansion with Zerglings and Mutalisks. In the 2nd game, Savior made three hatcheries against Nalra’s fast expansion. Like the past game, Nalra made Reavers but Savior’s Mutalisks killed them again and again. With more units, Savior beat Nalra easily.

In the 2nd semi final match, NaDa was no more a threat to BiSu. BiSu used mass Dragoons and a few Shuttles (holding Zealots) in the 1st game and mass Carriers in the 2nd game against NaDa’s ground units: Marines, Siege tanks and Vultures. Beating NaDa 2 games in a row, BiSu advanced to the final match.

The Final match was BiSu  vs.  Savior. But BiSu was a real rival and counter to Savior. The first score was Savior’s. On Hitchhiker, Savior defended all of Bisu's attacks: Corsairs and Dark templars, High templars on Shuttles, etc. Savior destroyed BiSu’s photon cannons with Guardians, and his expansions with Lurkers and Zerglings.

As the final moved into the 2nd game, BiSu played defensively and saved many minerals and gas for the latter. Savior tried to drop ground units with Overlords, but BiSu detected it and defended it with Corsairs and High Templars. Then BiSu destroyed Savior’s expansions and brought the score to a tie.

In the final game, BiSu played aggressively again. Predicting Savior’s fast expansion, BiSu used mass zealots and attacked Savior’s base with Zealots and 3 probes. Savior defended it first, but more and more Zealots penetrated to Savior’s base. At last, BiSu’s continuous Zealots destroyed Savior’s Spawning Pool, and Hatchery, and got the winning title!.

Beating Savior at Final match, BiSu received Marine bronze statue as a winning trophy and $10,000 USD.

Blizzard World Wide Invitational WarCraft3 Final Report

On the last day of Blizzcon (May 20th), the Battle.net ladder Season 5 Asian final, Blizzard World Wide Invitational semi-final and final were all held.

Battle.net Ladder Season 5 Asian Final

:
Jae Ho “Moon” JANG  vs.  Sung Sik “ReMinD” KIM  (2 : 0)

This was a Night elf mirror match, and the map order was Echo isles, Turtle rock. Remind is strong enough at mirror matches that he has beat Moon several times before. But that day, Moon was somewhat different from what he used to be. Using various tactics and strategies, Moon outdid Remind 2 games in a row.

Semi Final
Dae Hui “FoV” CHO  vs.  Xiao Feng “Sky” LI  (2 : 1)
Yoan “ToD” MERLO  vs. Jae Ho “Moon” JANG (2 : 0)

Final
Dae Hui “FoV” CHO  vs. Yoan “ToD” MERLO  (1 : 2)

French Human master ToD got the winning cup. Beating 3 best players: Remind, Moon and FoV, ToD finally became the champ!

At 1st semi final games, Fov beat China’s best player Sky with 2:1 score. Sky used the Paladin as a 1st hero again, but Fov broke that strategy with the Pandarin brewmaster as a 1st hero. And in the 3rd game, Sky went back to the Archmage as a 1st hero, and Fov went back to the Death Knight, too. Both players used three old-school heroes. Sky used the Archmage, Mountain king and Paladin, while Fov used the Death knight, Lich and Dread Lord.
In the end, undead 3 heroes survived and Fov won over Sky.

In the 2nd semi-final match, ToD beat Moon with 2:0 score. Moon vetoed Turtle Rock (he lost to Franklin “Nilk” Pearsall on that map.), so the game was played on Lost Temple, which most of night elf players used to veto. ToD attacked Moon massively with a number of armies through fast expansion, and got “GG” from Moon.

The Final game was Undead FoV  vs  Human ToD. But ToD didn’t use a recent trend: Paladin as a 1st hero. Instead, ToD used the Archmage as a 1st hero through all 3 games, and broke FoV’s strategy with the adamantine play. The 3rd game was really an authentic final game. Both players used many mercenaries, and showed the ultimate skill several times. But the final survival was French human master, ToD.
