The Ladder Has Started
Important Information (updated frequently)
The Rules:
  1. The matches are to be played in a best of one mode, meaning that the first team to win one map wins the match.
  2. The mode used is ''APXL''. During the meeting in IRC or in HoN Chat System before each game, in turns, each team captain can veto-out one hero which will not be used in that game. Each team can veto-out three heroes this way, so six heroes will be banned. After this the teams start picking the heroes they want to use, in turns, in a 1-2-2-2-2-1 sequence. The team listed on the right in the match details decides who starts the procedures for the first game. When creating the game, the "Normal Mode" with the option "All Heroes" will be entered. It is up to the two clans to decide to Record Stats or not during match creation.
  3. The following items are restricted, meaning that each team cannot have a total of more than 2 Astrolabe, 1 Ring of Sorcery, 2 Puzzlebox, 1 Restoration Stone, Either 2 Stormspirit or 2 Kuldra's Sheepstick or 1 Stormspirit, and 1 Kuldra's Sheepstick (this means that you have to be no more than 2 of these disabling items)
Sharing of items is allowed as long as the game permits. It is not allowed to suicide to pass Doom Bringer. Violating this rule results in a no-show for the offending team.
4.Backdooring is allowed at first and second tower level. Backdooring in enemy base is not allowed meaning that you cannot attack enemy buildings without the creeps support. If you reached the building with creeps you are allowed to continue attacking it even if the creeps are killed. If you reached the opponents base together with allied creeps, you may attack any building, included those belonging to the other lanes, and you are allowed to continue attacking it even if the creeps are killed. Violating this rule results in a no-show for the offending team.
5.Creep Blocking permanently is not allowed but Creep Slowing or Luring is allowed. It is not allowed to block creeps with the help of spells (like Fissure of Behemot). It is only allowed to use the hero collision box (hero body) to intercept with creeps. It is allowed to Creep Block in lane with neutral creeps.
As a Creep Blocking rule, it's not allowed to block the base entrance for defensive purpose with the help of spells. Accidental blocks are okay, as long as the fissure - for example - was directed at an opposing hero. Violating this rule results in a no-show for the offending team.

Map: Forests of Caldavar.

Each game of Heroes of Newerth pits two teams of 1 to 5 players, called the Legion and Hellbourne, against each other. Each player selects a single hero to play from a pool of sixty, via one of several selection rotations. During the match, heroes will gain experience and gold by destroying enemy NPC units, players or structures, and customize their character with skills and items as the game progresses. Gameplay consists of heroes attacking/defending NPCs in a "lane" - a pre-defined pathway from one base to the other that the AI-controlled NPCs follow - to gain experience and gold advantage over the other team, while concurrently attempting to kill opposing heroes and avoid being killed themselves, to respawn a short time later in their own base. A game ends either when one of the teams' main structure is destroyed - either the Tree of Life for the Legion, or the Sacrifical Pit of the Hellbourne. A team may also concede at any point beyond fifteen minutes into the match. If beta form at the moment, Full version to be released sometime in 2010.
